The Student Support Center is available to ANY student seeking academic support.

  • Supplements direct teacher assistance offered after school.
  • Grants an opportunity for teachers to prescribe needed intervention/skills support to promote success.

Intramural Sports

Opportunity for students to continue strength, skill, conditioning or interest in a variety of athletic/sports competitions to include tennis, soccer, basketball, hockey, volleyball, track and more!

Chess Club

Green Block, C100

Chess develops logical thinking. Chess requires some understanding of logical strategy. Kids will learn to evaluate the results of specific actions and sequences. Does this sequence help me win or lose the game? Decisions are better when guided by logic, rather than impulse.

Paw Pals (Best Buddies)

Our PAW Pals program seeks to provide inclusive enrichment and leisure opportunities wherein students with Special Needs are paired with General Education students and participate in a variety of activities (i.e. cooking, video/board games, crafts) together. Service Hours available.

Theatre Sports

Games for use in Drama or Theatre. They are most valuable to acquire these essential skills for any student actor:

Science Bowl

The National Science Bowl® for Middle School Students was started in 2002 and includes two types of competitions — an academic math and science competition and a model car race. The car race provides the students with a “hands-on” science and engineering experience where the teams design, build, and race their model cars. Science Olympiad

Bringing science to life, to show how science works, to emphasize problem-solving aspects of science and the understanding of science concepts. Dr. Who Club

Explore the world of Science Fiction through a variety of media. We will cover aliens, robots, time travel, parallel universes, etc. Participate in reading short stories, novels and comics and play board or video games that are based on the Science Fiction genre.

Go Club

Green Block, C100

Go is a board game involving two players that originated in ancient China. The two players alternately place stones on the vacant intersections of a board. The objective of the game is to surround a larger area of the board with stones than the opponent. 

Rock Wall Climb

Students will be able to access our brand new Rock Wall and climb during this time. Sessions will be offered both blocks every other Wednesday and Thursday. All students are welcome to come out and climb.

Anime Club

The Anime Club seeks to promote an interest in and appreciation of Japanese animation through viewing anime films, television series, and through discussion sessions.

CyberPatriot Club (closed to new participants)

CyberPatriot the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air Force Association (AFA) to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation's future. At the center of CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition. The competition puts teams of middle school students in the position of newly hired IT professionals tasked with managing the network of a small company. In the rounds of competition, teams are given a set of virtual images that represent operating systems and are tasked with finding cybersecurity vulnerabilities within the images and hardening the system while maintaining critical services.

Model UN

Academic simulation of the United Nations - students research a country, take on roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult, and then develop solutions to world problems. Kilmer MUN attends 6-7 conferences each year, on the weekends.

Student Council Association

Selected students help share students’ ideas, interests, and concerns with teachers and administrators. They plan school activities including social events, community projects and school reform. This is an opportunity to learn leadership styles and skills.

Math Counts

The aim of the Math Counts Program is the promotion of mathematical interest and competency to middle school students.  Students will compete at the local, state and national competitions; prizes will be awarded at each level of competition.
