SIS Parent Accounts provide access to view your child’s student information, including attendance, report cards, class schedules, gradebook, course history, discipline, health, and school information, and establishing another form of communication between home and school. If you had an active account from the 2020-2021 school year, you can continue to use this account for the 2021-2022 school year.
On behalf of the PTA, welcome to all our returning and new families! We are so excited to see familiar and new faces at the 7th and 8th Grade Open Houses in a few weeks. Come say hi at our PTA tables and find out more about what we do and ways you can get involved! The PTA also sends out a weekly newsletter passing along news and friendly reminders. If you haven’t received your copy yet but would like to be added to our distribution list, please email us at @email .
To ensure our schools stay open and safe this school year, FCPS will start the school year with universal masking. Masks will be worn at all times by both staff and students indoors and on school buses, but are not required when eating or when outside during recess, PE, or other activities. Universal masking is a critical factor in ensuring all students can return to our buildings, especially when social distancing is not possible and not all our students are eligible yet for vaccinations. We will be regularly reviewing our masking practices in line with updates to national, state and local health recommendations. Find out why we are starting the school year with universal masking.
Green/Blue Bell Schedule
This year, Kilmer is on a block schedule. This means students will only go to half of their assigned classes each day (Odd period classes on one day, even period classes the next). This schedule, referred to as the A/B schedule on official FCPS calendars, is county wide. For Kilmer, we are referring to Odd (A day) as Green Day and Even (B day) as Blue. Because of the rotating nature of this schedule, classes will run on an approximately two week cycle. On Monday, Aug 23rd, students will attend their Green (odd) Day classes. On Monday Aug 30th, students will attend their Blue (even) day classes. This schedule is set. If students miss a day for snow, they will return to the previously scheduled classes.
