KMS Unofficial Hand Lettering Society

Do you like to doodle? Create interesting printed or cursive writing? Decorate your writing? Do you want to improve your handwriting or learn how to read cursive? In this enrichment class, we will have fun experimenting with different hand-drawn alphabets using different pens and pencils. New and experienced hand-letterers are welcome!

Knovel Knitters

Come learn the cozy craft of loom knitting! We'll make scarves, headbands, hand warmers, pot holders, or even baby blankets to donate to your favorite charity. Whether you've been knitting for years or you're just learning, Knovel Knitters is the place to be. Materials will be provided and all skill levels are welcome! 

Meditation

Communist History

This student created enrichment will explore what is communism from its origins in Karl Marx's "Communist Manifesto" to its rise in the Soviet Union and its global influence throughout the Cold War. The intent is to look at varying perspectives of communism in theory and practice as well as its historical influence.

Photography Ink!

Do you like taking pictures? What do you do with all those cool pictures you take? Come have fun in this enrichment class taking, editing, and putting together your photographs. Some ideas are collages, picture books - your imagination is the limit! We will have some editing software available to install and use to create your product! 

 Family Game Night

Do you want to get to know your fellow 7th graders better? Do you love Kahoot, bingo, Guess Who, and more? Come on down for some get-to-know-you games and community builders! Get ready to share and learn more about your peers from all four teams every week. 

Double Bass Academy

Have you always been curious about playing a string instrument but never had the time to try it out? Does playing a unique instrument that is used in classical jazz, rock, country, and soul music appeal to you? Do you currently play electric bass and want to expand your musical knowledge? Then join the KMS Double Bass Academy! This enrichment activity is open to current KMS bassists who will advance their knowledge on their instrument, KMS strings students who want to try out the bass, current electric bass players, and students who have never picked up a bass in their life! Double bases will be provided to use during enrichment for all students who are interested. 

Root Masters

Are you competitive? Have you always wanted to be a Master of a game? Join Root Masters. This activity will extract Greek and Latin roots o words and implant them into a fast pace card game called Rummy. This game has been used in SAT and TJHS test prep classes. Join the March Madness! 

Fun Ukelele Songs

Students will share songs and playing techniques along with history and development and rise in popularity in this instrument.

Authors' Club

Come develop and write the stories of your heart! Authors' Club will give you the space, opportunity, and resources to expand your creative thought and move you one step closer to publishing your book! 

Board Games

In this enrichment, you will be playing some classic board games and have the opportunity to learn some new favorites. 

Manga/Anime Club

We will be looking at all things related to manga! You will have the opportunity to choose several series to focus on. Then we will read the manga and watch the anime both subbed and dubbed. If you love manga or anime this is the enrichment for you!

Jigsaw Puzzles

Join me in assembling jigsaw puzzles which will help to clear your mind and relax. You will feel delight as you see the puzzle getting closer and closer to completion with every piece you piece together. Not to mention, the sense of achievement and satisfaction when you complete your jigsaw puzzle!

Extreme Coloring and Loving It!

Tired of a life of basic coloring books? Then join Extreme Coloring and Loving It! Coloring intricately detailed and complex black and white drawings composed of tiny elements, patterns, and creatures to bring out your creativity, decrease your stress, and have fun in a relaxing and electronic free enrichment class. Join us for extreme, supreme, enormous, highly extraordinary fun! 

Turtle Appreciation Club

Do you love turtles? Join the turtle club! We will learn about the many species of turtles through research and share our love of turtles with others through turtle themed outfits. 

Learning Korean Music Culture

The purpose of our enrichment is to learn more about Korean music culture through various types of Korean music. Whether we enjoy pop music or ballads, we will come together to discuss and share our interests in certain K-pop groups, artists, or songs to expand our knowledge about Korea and its music culture. 

Come explore the cultural wonders of Ancient Greece and modern day Greece. We will watch fun informational videos, try some tasty Greek treats, and learn about modern traditions and customs.
