The 7th-grade health classes presented their project-based learning exhibits at the annual Wellness Expo on Wednesday, April 3rd. The students gave their presentations to the 8th graders, parents, and staff members. Students had voice and choice in their topic, and their assignment was to advocate for healthy decision making in one or more of the four health dimensions (physical, social, emotional-mental, and environmental health). The topics ranged from being prepared for weather disasters, to art therapy for stress management, Kahoot and jeopardy games on a variety of issues. Everyone had fun while learning together. The FCPS Health Department had an exhibit on sugar shocker drinks, and the FCPS Department of Special Services offered more drug education. Congratulations to all 7th-grade students for a job well done! Thanks to all the 8th graders for being respectful to the presenters.

This culminating health activity supports the FCPS Portrait of a Graduate and Project-Based learning.
