Kilmer Medical Center
This week, our health classes got hands-on experience diagnosing diseases and determining treatment plans - developing their inquiry and critical thinking skills along the way. As resident doctors in the Kilmer Medical Center activity, under the direction of the Chief of Medicine (HPE teacher Brandon Filsinger), students met with volunteer patients, all of whom had various symptoms and illnesses. With a mix of 21st-century tools and deductive reasoning, our Residents learned how to hone in on the illnesses causing each patient's symptoms. They learned that there is so much more to take into account - risk factors, family history, and even lifestyle. Great job, KMC Residents! And thank you to all of our volunteers who helped make this experience possible!
