Congratulations to Ruth Baxley on being recognized as the June 2019 FCPS Cares Recipient of the Month for Region 2 by the Department of Human Resources. Congratulations, Ms. Baxley!

Below is the write up submitted by a parent of a Kilmer Middle School student

I just wanted to send a note to make sure I acknowledge what an awesome teacher Ms. Ruth Baxley has been for my eighth-grade daughter this past year. This year, for the first time she continuously talks about how much she enjoys Math and Ms. Baxley’s class! My daughter would say things like “Ms. Baxley makes math easy to understand”, something I’ve never heard her say about math in the past. Ms. Baxley has truly changed my daughter's academic trajectory and has allowed her to succeed in math and find a love for this important subject that without Ms. Baxley, I believe she may have never found. What a gift to have Ms. Baxley at Kilmer MS, and how fortunate we are to have her as my daughter's Math teacher. If there’s any way to recognize this amazing teacher, please let me know as she deserves some extra appreciation. Thank you for the opportunity for my daughter to be instructed by the wonderful Ms. Baxley. From our family, we thank you for all you’ve done, Ms. Baxley (as well as the Kilmer MS administration in supporting great teachers), to help develop our daughter’s love of math.​​​​​​
